Petronis Family

The Ann Bulecza Petronis Nursing Scholarship was established in 2010 by the Petronis family to honor the legacy of Mrs. Ann Bulecza Petronis as a nurse. Initially reluctant to become a nurse, Petronis followed her mother’s advice and entered nursing school at St. Peter’s Hospital in 1934, graduating three years later. Throughout her long career of service, Mrs. Petronis made a concerted effort to encourage people to enter nursing. Mrs. Petronis passed away in August 2010. The scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Nursing.
