Mrs. Margaret W. Graves

The Ida Lou Nelson Holmes Endowed Scholarship in Human Sciences was established in 1983 by her niece, Mrs. Margaret W. Graves of Fort Worth. Ms. Holmes taught at John Tarleton College in the 1930s before going to Washington, D.C. to teach in the public schools. She devoted her life to education, and home economics, and was instrumental in adopting the Future Homemakers of America program and other educational tools such as home projects and parent-teacher liaisons.
