Mr. John Caraway and the Chevron Corporation

The Annie Myra Schuman Nursing Scholarship was established in September of 1989. This scholarship was created from a gift by John Caraway of Stephenville and the Chevron Corporation. Born in Alabama, Mrs. Shuman moved to Comanche County
as a child and received her nursing certification in 1924. Over the next 50 years, she served as a nurse in Gorman, Eastland, Comanche, Baird, and DeLeon. She retired from nursing in 1973 and passed away in 1981.
