Mr. John Caraway

The John Caraway Music and Nursing Scholarships were established in 2000 to assist worthy students pursuing degrees in music and nursing. Mr. Caraway retired from Gulf Oil as Accounting Manage of the Midland office in 1983. Caraway attend Tarleton and earned his Bachelor in Management from Texas Tech University. A native of Reagan County, he was drafted into the military during the Korean conflict and was sent to Fort Sam Houston to Medical Field Service School. He was discharged in 1952 and went to work for Gulf at the Fort Worth Division Office in 1953. Mr. Caraway passed away in 2000.

Mr. Caraway also established the De Leon Ex-Students Association Scholarship in October 1994 to benefit deserving students from De Leon, Texas.
