Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Jenkins

The Danny Jenkins Memorial Scholarship was established in May 1990 by Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Jenkins of Hico, in memory of their son. Danny Jenkins, born in Hico, attended school in Hico and participated in sports, band, and UIL. He graduated with honors in grade school and high school. He came to Tarleton in 1967 as a Pre-Pharmacy student until 1968 when he transferred to the University of Texas in Austin. He graduated in August 1971. Danny Jenkins worked with Eckerd Drugs until his death in 1989. He was a victim of cancer. Mr. Vernon Jenkins retired as Hamilton County Judge in 1978, and retired from farming and ranching in 1984. Mrs. Pauline Jenkins retired from the nursing profession in 1984. She passed away in July 1991.
