Kari Martin Haile

Kari Martin Haile established this scholarship in honor of her mother, Charles Ann Wylie Martin. Charles Ann was honored with the prestigious annual Swift & Company award in 1943, recognizing her as the outstanding graduate from Tarleton’s College of Business. As the inaugural female recipient of this esteemed accolade, she became a trailblazer, setting an inspiring example for other women. Throughout her career, Charles Ann defied gender norms by persistently working in the predominantly male domain of agribusiness. Originating from a farming background, she was the pioneer in her family to depart from the traditional path and venture into the realm of agricultural business.
