John and Lillie May Farley

The John & Lillie May Farley Scholarship was established in December 1989 by Mr. & Mrs. Farley of Proctor. Mr. Farley, a native of Kiowa, Oklahoma, attended John Tarleton College and Texas A&M in 1931 and 1932. He was employed as a telegraph operator for Exxon Pipe Line in 1933. He worked in various positions until his retirement as a Mechanical Supervisor on July 8, 1977. Mrs. Farley, a native of Proctor, Texas, attended John Tarleton College when it was a two-year institution. She graduated with an Associate degree in 1931. She later received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education (Cum Laude) from the University of Texas in Austin in 1956. She taught elementary education for over 24 years. Mr. Farley passed away in December 1996 and Mrs.
Farley passed away in 2007.
