The Golden Family Endowed Scholarship was Established in 2003. This scholarship is awarded annually to upper-classmen based on high academic achievement, outstanding leadership and participation in campus activities. This scholarship was
created by Jerry and Sharman Denny Golden (‘68/’66) and Josh Golden (’98) and is supported by other family members attending Tarleton during the past half-century. Jerry Golden is a 2011 Distinguished Alumnus, past president of the Tarleton Alumni Association and former member of the Tarleton Foundation. While at Tarleton, Josh was a student body president and chair of the Chancellor’s Student Advisory Board of The Texas A&M University System. Jerry’s sister, Nancy Golden Turley (‘79), is the first
woman elected student body president at Tarleton. She is also a past president of the Tarleton Alumni Association and is a 1995 Outstanding Young Alumnae.
