George Taylor and Bonnie Lou Irvin

George Taylor and Bonnie Lou Irvin

In 1876 Antwan Faucher, a French Canadian immigrant, purchased a farm on the Trinity River in Grand Prairie, Dallas County, Texas. The purchase of that farm resulted in the creation of this endowment more than a century later. Antwan Faucher married Louise Grimm, an immigrant from Lorraine, France and they had a daughter named Emma Mitilda Foucher. The Estate passed to Mitilda Foucher Stubbs and her husband George Palmer Stubbs. The Estate was then inherited by Anne Louise Stubbs Irvin, her husband William Taylor Irvin and their son George Taylor Irvin. George Taylor Irvin, husband of Bonnie Lou Rogers Irvin, subsequently acquired all of the rights to the estate.

This endowment is intended to be a contribution to the development of individual determination and the creation of a better social, economic and ecologically responsible environment, with individual dignity and respect for all of the world’s inhabitants. Dignity and respect cannot be dictated or legislated, but must be earned and maintained by each individual through factual education. It is their hope that the recipients of the George Taylor and Bonnie Lou Irvin Endowed Scholarship will earn and maintain the dignity and respect necessary to protect and contribute to our society and nation.
