Family of McKee Jane Smith

The McKee Jane Smith Endowed Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005. This scholarship was created by her family. The Smith family ties to Tarleton run very deep as McKee Jane’s mother, aunt, four uncles, sister, brother, and husband all attended the school, and both of her daughters were honor graduates. Mrs. Smith received her Associate Degree from John Tarleton Agricultural College in 1949. Her husband, Mr. Clinton Smith was a member of the Tarleton faculty for over 30 years. Mrs. Smith passed away in September of 2004. This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in art, based on academic excellence and artistic potential.
