Dr. Joe R. and Dr. Teresa Lozano Long

The Joe and Teresa Long Scholarship was established in 1999. Mr. Long was raised in Leon County and came to Tarleton from Centerville High School. He graduated from Tarleton in 1949. After receiving his Associate degree, Mr. Long attended the University of Texas, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Government. Mr. Long also received his J.D. degree in 1958 from the University of Texas. Teresa Long was raised in Premont, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ed. D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Long is a longtime educator who served as a teacher and on the executive committee of the University Scholastic League. This scholarship is awarded to students declaring a major within the College of Education and Fine Arts or the College of Arts and Sciences (now the College of Liberal and Fine Arts and the College of Science and Technology).

Scholarships
