Dr. H. Bedford Furr and Dr. Oneta R. Furr

The Dr. H. Bedford Furr & Dr. Oneta R. Furr Scholarship was established by Dr. Furr and his wife, because they believed in higher education and knew that a college education can change the course of a life in a very positive way. Dr. H. Bedford Furr attended John Tarleton Agricultural College and, while on campus, served as student commander of the cadets. Over the years, the Furrs helped many achieve dreams of obtaining a college degree. Through their efforts, encouragement, and generosity, the Furrs created a lasting legacy of service and goodwill to others. Dr. Bedford Furr passed away in May 2011. Dr. Oneta Furr passed away in January 2015.
