Dr. Dennis Jones and Dr. Annette Albrecht
The Dr. Laura Boren Residence Life Scholarship was stablished in 2010 by Dr. Dennis Jones and Dr. Annette Albrecht. Dr. Jones and Dr. Albrecht are strong believers that living on-campus can have a positive impact on students by enhancing the integration of curricular and co-curricular experiences. The student leader on the resident hall floor serves as the catalyst for encouraging students to actively participate in these experiences. Additionally, the student leader serves as an academic role model for these students. Therefore, this scholarship was established to acknowledge the importance of these students.
The Dr. Ann Albrecht Honorary Counseling Endowed Scholarship was established in 2017. This scholarship is awarded to a student who is in their second year of the Masters in Counseling Program and who has earned a 4.0 GPA in their first semester of the Masters in Counseling Program.
In 2014, The Linda Duncan Honorary Counseling Scholarship was also established by Dr. Annette Albrecht and Dr. Dennis Jones, in honor of Dr. Linda Duncan’s retirement from Tarleton. This scholarship is to honor the extraordinary career of Dr. Linda Duncan. Dr. Duncan has set an example to others through her various roles as counselor, educator, practitioner, advisor and colleague. The scholarship is awarded to a student who has completed 24 semester hours of counseling related courses at Tarleton. Recipients must have full admittance to the Counseling Program and have a graduate grade point average of 3.5. The scholarship will be awarded annually through the Counseling Program at Tarleton.
