Derwayne and Barbara Rasco and Shad Rasco ('92)
The Shanon Rasco Memorial Scholarship Fund for Physically Disabled Students was established in 2005 by Derwayne and Barbara Rasco, and Shad Rasco (’92). This scholarship is in memory of their son and brother Shanon Rasco. Shanon was born with spina bifida, a birth defect of the spinal cord, which confined him to a wheelchair. Although he faced many hardships throughout his life, he always exemplified courage and perseverance. Shanon was an individual of moral character with leadership qualities that were evident by his outgoing personality and many friends. He would be pleased to know that students are being assisted by a scholarship in his name. This scholarship was established to benefit full-time disabled students who have financial need, demonstrated leadership abilities in school and in the community, as well as demonstrating good moral character.
