B.D. O'Neal

The LTC Sam E. Jeffers ROTC Scholarship was establish by B.D. O’Neal in memory of his dear friend. Mr. Jeffers attended Tarleton from 1949 until 1951. After graduation from Texas A&M, Mr. Jeffers joined the Army and retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Green Berets. He served two tours in Vietnam during his career in the Army. After his retirement, Mr. Jeffers received a Master’s degree in agricultural education from Tarleton. He passed away in May 1992. This scholarship is awarded to a student with a desire to serve his/her country.
